The things that walk out when you open your mind. -Dylan McCoy

People
Are not all that they claim to be
They can’t see
What’s right and what’s wrong
And what had been hurting them
For so very long

So People
Start whispering back to the world
All the mean things they heard
All those nasty cruel words
And they find out
That two wrongs
Never make a right
But the keep on wronging
Through day and through night

And maybe you think
That I think I’m above
But that’s not true at all,
I’m sorry my love
But I am the worst
Simply since I know
That People
Are better than
The places they go

And maybe from context,
Maybe from hope,
Maybe from light,
Maybe you prayed
That I thought
Two wrongs made a right.

But I know better than this,
I know from the things that I do,
I know that one wrong makes one wrong.
And two, they make two

And I know I’m a person
Though I despise it so
Still I follow us People
Wherever they go

In my head,
I am screaming
Why do we act so?
But out loud
I am silenced
By the fear I have grown

People
Are something
I don’t understand
They try to be so caring
To help fellow man
But act on it?
Never
For the same reason as mine

People
Are afraid
They hold bouquets
Of freshly cut fear
That they carry on their wedding day,
And take to the grave.

People
Are not all they claim to be
And they have made it so we cannot see
That no matter what they say,
Be it day, or night
There is never a time
When two wrongs make a right.
