Awake
Sometimes I look up
And just for a moment
One fleeting
Itty bitty
Underrated moment
I know you
And I remember myself
And my gaze wanders around
My disorienting surroundings
And for one moment
All is clear
I can see me
In the mirror
Can feel my feelings
Know my love
I sit on the ground
With no fear
Without flying away
I am peaceful
You are wonderful
For that one
Small
Quick
Short
Moment
I am awake
I have been shaken by you
By my love
And for some odd reason
For that one true moment
The grass is greener
Than it was
While I slept
To think that dreams are brighter...
Dreams are death
You are only alive when awake
And that one
Ephemeral
Passing
Transitory
Moment
I am here
Free to breathe
As me
And that one
Brief
Subtle
Alarming
Moment
Is gone
One with the blurring past
And my eyes once again
peer my surroundings
The figures and objects are Strangers
And I am not me
And you are not you
I can no longer live
Only pretend to
I do not know my love
Or feel the pain
Or see grass as greener
I am once again
Dillusionally
Dead
