Tiptoeing on Today's Toadstools,
The pink-winged fairy, speckled with sapphire sparkles,
tried to touch Tomorrow's Tales.

But hesitated
as each clink of her periwinkle slippers sunk deeper
into the mushroom's scarlet flesh.
Her petite palm reached out as her peach finger pointed
toward the arching limbs scattered seamlessly throughout
the Whimsical Wood.
Falling limp against her emerald skirt
The pink-winged fairy turned her head down
watching her sinking feet.
Her little lips let out a whisper of defeat
Her electric blue eyes fell flat

But current resurged, sparked back to life.
Lips pursed in determination,
she glanced up at the gossamer greens
intertwining, inspiring
Beauty.

When she remembered:
the pink-winged fairy.
She unfolded her wings
and flew.
