Daddy's Little Girl
Once there was a little girl who always spent time with her father
‘cause that what fathers and daughters did.
And when he held her in his arms she would kiss him on the cheek,
And from afar her sister stared on with a look of longing.
The next year the girl wouldn’t sit on her father’s lap
‘cause she thought she was getting too old.
And she wouldn’t kiss him on the cheek, no matter how much he asked
And from afar her sister stared on with a look of jealousy.
The next year the girl started to wear a bra and black makeup
‘cause that’s what all the other girls her age did.
And she never spent time with her father, and never sat on his lap.
And by then her sister had stopped caring.
The years went on by and the father reminisced the days he held his daughter close
‘cause those were the days he most wished to remember.
And never again was he kissed on the cheek, or had someone sit in his lap
‘cause even though he was his daughter’s father
She was no longer daddy’s little girl.

We were all put on this love to care and love about one another; not to hate, belittle and destroy each other.
