Scarring Love
I've never really been in love
I've never been through pain
But I've watch my friends suffer
And I've never been the same
I've seen the way they struggle
To maintain a working connection
But by exposing themselves
They destroy all their protection
I feel that if I loved
A true love of the heart
I might get injured
And accumulate new scars
Should I keep on reaching
For someone to hold my hand
Or should I pull myself back
Do I know that I can
Even though I've seen
So many lose their souls
To this spell called love
I don't want to let it go
