Raindrops
A cloud, the calm before the storm
The air is heavy with moisture that is doomed
Eventually, to dry up
But for now, the birds don't sing
And the air is quiet and heavy
And the world holds its breath
Until at last the clouds weep,
And bring with them a longing
For the skies to clear.
One by one, little sullen raindrops
Splatter on the ground, like dreams
And one by one, they disappear
