Beating Night

Dear Knight,
Sitting high upon your noble
steed; I have fallen
from mine. So very far
away, I see shadows
between the bones; I feel
teeth, ribs, hips and
tail, grating the black dust,
biting dry air;
swallowing growls,
choking. Blood
Low pressure.
Low pulse.
My horse breathes
for me? heart beats
for you. Dear Knight,
I’ll rise, I’ll ride, I’ll
burn, if only calories.
For you need not fight
for me. I’ll wake;
dress this cold
skeleton; mount
the scarlet mare.
If only you would light the
spark, and melt the
ice, crusting my eyes.

This is an interesting piece. I like how you address this "knight". It adds more quality to the poem. Your imagery is good as well. It feels dark and something like a fairy tale from the Grimm brothers. I definitely love the last three lines. Simply captivating.

The more control you have over yourself, the less control others have over you.

Hey there! WITH ALL OF MY HEART I WOULD LIKE TO APOLOGIZE FOR NEVER GETTING THE CHANCE TO COMMENT. You asked me so long ago and I told myself yes, I'll get to it once I get home and I completely forget. I am terribly sorry for that. Whenever you get some new things on your page, because I've already commented on the ones you have up, I'd love to comment on your new ones. I PROMISE I actually will. And now to comment on this one. This is one of the most interesting poems I think I have ever read. The set-up is really, really nice, I like it alot. This poem is very creepy, I like it. And the descriptions of the bones and the parts of the body are soo vivid and scary. This poem is really dark, but I enjoyed it, it was a great great read. You are a WONDERFUL writer and I encourage you to write more like this, people will love it. Great job!
