I Hope
I hope that I find you someday
when the acid in my veins
has changed back to blood.
I hope that my cruelty is replaced
with the ability to help myself
instead of hurt for release.
I hope I will learn to pray
to Him much larger than myself
so I can solidify life's meaning.
I hope that when all else fails
we can turn to each other
and feel alright regardless.
I hope that you stick by me
and accommodate my darkness
so that it may destroy itself.
I hope the well of sufferance
runs deep and never dries
to conceive a restful unity.
