Time.
Time is crawling,
Inching towards a goal
It will never reach;
Like a snail
Trying to make it to the other side of the planet,
Never stopping for a rest, it continues
The never-ending journey.
Along the way,
Time plays a little game with us:
A vacation we've been anticipating
Takes years to come around,
Even though it's only three days away.
But then, we spend time with loved ones,
And an hours turns into just thirty seconds.
Time plays its little game with us;
Laughing and enjoying every second.
The "end of time":
No such thing exists;
Humanity may end,
Earth's sustainability may finally cave in around us,
But time will always remain,
Continuing at a snail-like pace,
Towards a goal
It will never reach.
