Under the Umbrella
It rained so hard that day,
I remember it like yesterday
It was during the drizzle that we met,
Some moments so hard to forget
As I admired the music of the rain
Water drip-dropped and flowed into the drains
So lonely I was drenched in the rain
When I saw you coming to ease an unknown pain
You came and offered the black umbrella
I accepted hesitantly having no other choice
We walked, me headed for home,
And you to some place unknown
We walked, colors danced before me
Perhaps I don’t know still what happened to me
We walked silent, yet talking to each other
And I no longer feeling loneliness had been a bother
We walked, I trying so hard to say,
Something I could not even till this day
We walked, it was strange
Butterflies flew in my stomach
Yet there was nothing left to be said
Anything silence had not left unsaid
We walked, and there, I reached my home
Going to the gate I silently turned to you
My eyes silently expressing Thank you
A smile from you made me realize
That you understood the language of my eyes
But when you slowly went away for your domain,
I was left again, in the loneliness of the rain.
