Apotheosis
Lend me your eyes so that I may see;
Lend me your eyes so that I may see your
Napping brown gaze when I look
In the mirror;
Lend me your eyes so that I may watch the
Landscape awaken through your
Dusty windshield;
Lend me your eyes so that I may observe your
Fingers nod to a steady rhythm
As they turn void to
Gem.
Lend me your ears so that I may hear;
Lend me your ears so that I may hear your
Newborn laughter arise from your
Womb;
Lend me your ears so that I may listen to
The melody hidden among your words,
The symphony secreted in every sentence,
The song thinly veiled in your voice;
Lend me your ears so that I may catch every
Sly utterance, malicious remark,
Concealed by the innocence
Of your breath.
Lend me your lips so that I may speak;
Lend me your lips so that I may speak every
Passion deferred as the
New Year blossomed,
And wilts each day;
Lend me your lips so that I may tell the
Stories and allegories of sex
In the storm and bouts
In its eye.
Lend me your lips so that I may say the
Sorry unspoken but told in the
Grasp of (my) hands,
Told in the
Tear on your cheek.
