Defying Gravity
I’ve cut my ties with gravity
And my feet aren’t on the ground
Nothing’s pulling me towards the sky
But instead I’m being lifted
Colors I’ve never known or felt
Flare out and fill my eyes
My world feels so brand new
When in fact it’s only shifted
Tumbling through the air
Wind blows through my ears
Clouds roll over my skin
Fading away like a giggling ghost
They wrap around me warm
But when they dissolve they become cold
And the sun is calling me closer
It’s gamma only tickling at the most
I feel lighter than time
When I float above the earth
Every doubt and fear
Is suddenly made insignificant
My choice to fly away
Takes me every second higher
And though there’s darkness down below
I’m finally escaping it
I’ve cut my ties with gravity
And I’m only falling up
