Breaking Down the Breakdown
Pit in your stomach
Blurry eyes
Hot face
Insanities rise
“I’m Fine”
“I’m Fine”
Tilt your head back to drain in the tears
Not going to work
Succumb to your fears
Salt water flows
Everyone knows
“I’m Fine”
People are staring
Feels like they’re glaring
So sympathetic
It’s all so pathetic
“I’m Fine”
Excuse yourself
The pit starts to drop
Face starts to cringe
Can’t make it stop
Exasperated words and sniffles begin
You need to stop but you know you can’t win
“I’m Fine”
So overwhelmed with the thrill of it all
Emotional climbs and the crashing fall
You wonder what happens when it becomes too much
No source of medication could be your crutch
All of the money your parents paid
For some pill to be your rescuing aid
But you’re fine
You push on
