Back Through Time Again
There is a man with angles as a face,
who watches as we walk
back and forth, and as we pace,
and he says talk tick, tock talk.
There is a man with hands, and eyes,
who knows us as we sleep
and every morning as we rise
through dreams he knows to keep.
There is a man with “thinks” and “sees”,
And forgotten in fractured truths,
Who knows the “has-beens,” and the “be’s”
Time gone of shallow youths.
Again was a man, they tell me
Who went with head unhung
And he steps lightly, as do we
There until days had begun.
