I'm Just Human
I am human.
I try to hide it.
I wear a “mask” all the time
Trying to hide myself
But I have urges
I have needs
I have cravings
I have desires
I have dreams
I have feelings
And as hard as I try to hide these,
they sometimes come out
I try to make people think that I am tough
Make them think I am fearless
Tell them I can handle anything and do anything
Show them how strong I am...
But I am not all these things
Inside I am vulnerable
Everyone is vulnerable at one point
When you’re injured, you are vulnerable
When you’re in love, you are vulnerable
When you take that “mask” off, you are vulnerable
But it is this vulnerability that makes us human
It is this ability to make ourselves vulnerable
that makes us human
