Earth
We are a weapon
Of destruction.
We are the invention
That destroys the place
We need to survive.
We kill all that’s alive.
We need to arrive
At a final conclusion-
See beyond our illusion.
We have created
A garden for hatred.
Look past our present,
And into our past
And find where, somewhere there,
Humanity, at last
Made our mistake.
Our fatal day
When the fate of a people
Was vulnerable, and lay
Right in front of us
But our insatiable lust
Won out
Without a doubt
And our home gave a shout
That went unheard.
And we still haven’t learned
That this is our home.
It’s all that we have.
There isn’t another place,
And it’s sad
That all that we do
Is complain about what we have
But our most valuable asset
Is slowly, but surely,
Dying far too early.
So we need to hurry
And clean up our mess
Change the way
That we are.
Change the way
That we’ll be.
And finally see
That we must be stopped
The one place
Is relying
On us
A world full of humans
Who have issues with trust.
Who are busy with war
Who aren’t satisfied with more
Who are a people that tore
All our nations to pieces
In the name of peace
Who force boys into fighting
So that they can be free when they die.
We are broken.
It’s plain to see
But that’s no excuse
All the fuel that we’ve used
Will not be renewed
Our fate sealed
We haven’t healed
The place where
We live, love, and die.
Our home begins to cry
Tears poisoned by acid,
A deadly green rain
To rid itself of
Humanity’s pain.
As cars move along,
And houses are lit
Our home slowly dies
And we will die with it.
