From the Perspective of Someone Entirely Unlike Me
The Universe is telling me
That long gone is the dove
That paper makes the world go round
There isn't time for love
It's telling me acceptance
Is the one and only way
And assuring me that ignorance
Will always save the day
It says that war is unavoidable,
And at the end of the day
That pain is always constant
That is just the way
It says that things are how they are
And how they should always be
It says that life isn't fair
And I have no right to disagree
But I believe in mockingbirds
And I believe in doves
I believe in goodness
Even when push comes to shove
I say that paper isn't good enough
That we all need the dove
To pay the interest on our debt
All we need is love
