The Art of Destruction
Beautifully flowing down,
the hard, wooden dome
the molten rock on its warpath
gracefully disintegrates everything
in its path.
It’s companion, lightning,
strikes the otherwise peaceful,
blanket of darkness.
Illuminating the luminous
crescent.
The molten lava gushes underneath
the silvery, glowing moon.
Fire terrorizes the small villages
below. While a cloud of ash
rises and sets like a quilt over the town.
Its beauty masked by terror,
these resplendent fireworks
are glorious.
The volcano.
