Love is Wonderful
Love is wonderful
when we have middle school girls
with a pink plus signs
signifying positive on their
pregnancy test.
Love is wonderful
when it leads to controlling,
abusive people to becoming parents.
Parents that beat every ounce of light
from the glistening eyes of children,
transforming them into dark,
cold,
glossy
reflections.
Love is wonderful
when all you can do at night
is soak your pink pillow
with the warm salty tears
that stream down your face
unable to stop
because
relationships are falling apart,
or ceased from existence
because Atheism...
does not mesh with Christianity.
Love is wonderful
when hearts are crushed
like a grape,
stomped on like an hideous
undesired spider
because of lies and cheating.
Love is wonderful
when your love interest
hits on every barbie-like flirtatious girl,
and doesn’t even bother
to acknowledge a girl
who is actually worth a second of his time.
Love is wonderful
when it is a trap you fall into and can't get out of,
like a fly in a spider’s web.
Spending all of your energy trying to escape
but no matter how hard you try,
you’re stuck.
Love is wonderful
when you feel the softness of his hand stroking yours,
the sweetness when he gently
touches your back
sending tingles up your spine.
Love is wonderful
when it’s the kind of love where he respects
you enough to keep his hands off you,
Where although he wants to,
he won’t kiss you when you’re not ready.
Love is wonderful
when you get that random text saying,
“I don’t think things are going to work out.”
