Grow Up
When I was younger I would dream of growing up
If I knew this is what it would be like
I would have stayed a kid
Everyday when I wake up
I am given a new test
Of my abilities to cope
To see if I keep battling this endless fight
Just to keep my head up
Higher then the pool of my tears
All things that are simple
Feel surreal and unattainable
The perfect life I would dream of
Hasn't cracked up to be what's advertised
There are monsters in this world
The world of being older
You are expected to know what to do
No questions asked
When thrown a curve ball
They assume your reflexes are instinctual
Although they stand by and watch
As I fall on my face time after time
Unable to balance the world on my shoulders
If I knew being older would mean walking through hell
I would have stayed in the sublime bliss of a child's heaven
