The Ride
Do you ever feel like you're flying?
The joy you feel seemingly undying?
Together, we race through time.
I imagine the mountains we could climb.
I feel the wind in my hair
As I clutch his mane, riding, his back bare.
The added weight of the saddle just slows us down.
The faster we go, the harder it is to frown.
We speed through the field,
Happiness being my only shield.
When I'm on my horse,
The world disappears, the open field being my only course.
I look to the sky, as I listen to the sound,
Of my heart racing to the beat of his hooves hitting the ground.
In this big world, I lose sight of who I am.
But when I mount my horse, I feel like I can see God's plan.
