checkered a
vivid
red and
radiant white.
A woven basket
overflowing
with peanut butter and jelly
sandwiches, fresh fruit, ice
cold lemonade, and chocolate chip cookies.
A blazing
yellow sun, warbling birds, melodious
sounds, intensely hued flowers
creating a multi-colored
meadow, somber and proud
oak trees standing tall, rolling hills
decorating the landscape.
