Parting Ways
]Before now, when the world was falling apart
Back when every thought of you brought pain to my heart
And seeing you was dying inside every day
But I had to face those challenges to be this way
Then, there was signs that it was over, the world was ending
Now I know it was only the end of the beginning
The end of dying and breaking inside till it hurt to stand
After I stopped believing that what you did was planned
To destroy me, crumple my heart and trust like paper
Not till I saw your side, did my hatred begin to waver
You showed that you hurt too, but differently than I
It was you who never wanted to hurt me, but could not lie
You who loved me through everything but didn't love nearly enough
Now I believe how hard it is to really and thoroughly trust
Trust in yourself to conquer, trust in those you love to do the same
But what you taught is that love will never be tame
It tears through hearts, but that is not always for the worst
Sometimes the best things come from the people you cursed
The ones who are by all means, not necessary for survival
But those very people can be the cause of your revival
Knowledge comes in all shapes, ugly scars and pretty smiles
Your heart keeps beating, though you have traveled all those miles
You, my old friend, have taught me that I am not who I think to be
Thank you, though we are parting ways now, we shall meet again, better and free.
