The Train to Nowhere
I hopped on a train last night,
And I have been on it ever since.
I don't know where it's going,
Or where it's taking me.
When I look out the window,
I can see the green plains rush by like a bright green blur,
Whipping past my face.
And I keep watching it,
Watching it pass by,
Field after field after field.
This train keeps moving,
In one direction.
Forward.
This train keeps moving,
This train to nowhere.
It smells of smoke and cigarettes,
And has hard wood panel floors that creak when I move around.
It has dusty, gray windows,
And a rusting door, teetering on edge every time we hit a bump.
I hopped on a train last night,
And only God knows where its going.
Its a train going nowhere.
