Yahweh
When we look into the sky it's a celestial cemetery.
We're looking for answers in things that've been dead for light-centuries.
The petty things become unnecessary, and the beyond becomes less scary.
And more friendly, because it welcomes us with open arms.
A hug and kiss.
And we dive into its embrace wishing for no love but His.
And this great beyond grabs our wrists.
Flattens our fists.
Tells us to live and move on, not to miss.
The past is a dream.
The future's what's real.
The present's a gift that we might as well steal.
We feel the truth and me and you do what we once feared to do.
This life is a kind of race.
To live longest and have the right mind and face.
The life-lines we make are parallel and eternal.
For heaven's sake, don't crave the inferno.
The Carbon, oxygen, and hydrogen in my being turn to dust.
Not only are we in the universe, but the universe is in us.
The future's a friend, and death's far away.
So until this life ends, embrace every day.
