My little escape
The warm fizzy liquid burned my throat
As it traveled down the slide to my stomach.
The Pepsi, in its soft blue can,
Sat next to me on the bench in the park as I waited.
I took another gulp and felt the soda glide through my system.
The sun, now high in the sky shined bright off my watch and blinded me.
I checked the time as it read 2:27.
I scanned the park while taking another sip.
Kids on the swing-set and
Parents most likely gossiping by the picnic tables.
The park was my little escape.
