Fresh and innocent
and, above all, very beautiful
everybody wants the new things
long since done with the old
making it so that the new have to be
protected from corruption.
it starts with a look,
a simple petty want,
then morphs to a crazy, irrational need -
before that too becomes an undoable deed.
making it so that the new have to be hidden away
from life's evil truth.
far from doing so, however
people yearn to destroy
To taint what is new and turn it to old
offering its newness little to no safety.
As I did to this paper
The minute I
began to write
this poem.
after all, for me, the paper
was there before this
computer
though you may not know
the difference as all are
baffled by the chicken and
the egg.
