Drowning in Hurt
Hurt washing over me,
Malicious thoughts clamoring to be heard,
Shock freezing me,
Confusion clouding my judgement.
Tears springing to my eyes,
Grief threatening to overwhelm me,
Mourning my insecurity,
Wishing for the days of youth and innocence.
Discomfort reigning every thought,
When did I start to feel this way?
Unusually strange and alien in myself.
My woe is like,
Icy rain lashing my face,
Washing blithe thoughts away.
Unable to conceal myself,
Hurt soaks my very soul.
