Truth Be Told

I knew it was wrong
people aren't this way
I'm a bad guy
As a matter of fact I'm the worst
Did it hit me when I told you?
Or maybe when you cried?
Or maybe I knew all along
but had no sense to try...
I know I'm wrong
I'm wrong all of the time
The best mistake was you
tho' your happiness was blind
My worst mistake
as you can see
is quite the opposite
Not trying
Not feeling
Not caring
Not the slightest hope
Just alone in my world
Dying on the inside
The truth is told
Not through words or rhymes
but through watery eyes
Truth be told you knew
It was always, always
To good to be true.
