A walk on the street
Maddy took a walk on the street
Homeless and friendless
She had no idea where to go
Her life seemed dull without her children who died long ago
Her husband that left for a pretty blonde girl that wore short skirts and strapless tops
She sat down on a park bench
The dress she wore was black from the dirt of the city
No one had loved for years
No one could see how much she wanted to be loved behind her tears and dirty face and messy hair
She looked around at the cars that passed
All the rich people that couldn't care less about her
except one other girl staring back at her
This girl wore a black pencil skirt, and colorful blouse and her hair in bun and her feet in what looked like four inches of heels
Kneeling down to Maddy, she talked to her and gave a gift
For the first time, Maddy had the gift of love and the girl had a true friend
