This is for teen girls who try to be more than perfect because being themselves isn’t what everyone wants from them
For the tan makeup that paints their innocent white faces
For all the drop dead gorgeous teen girls who think they aren’t beautiful enough
This is for the beautiful girls who think that since they aren’t skin and bones they are ugly
For the girls with ribs sticking out, because being healthy isn’t in style right now
Hold those heads up
This is for my crucial 7:30 a.m. English class
For all of us slackers who are still half asleep in class
This for our geometry books, which we use as pillows while we dream about unicorns
For the 5th hour Spanish class that always makes Señora want to curse at us in a foreign language
For the hard working teachers who try to teach but get sick of us talking about what we did this weekend
Hold those heads up
For all the athletes who work their butts off, but never get the credit they deserve
For those who aren’t good enough to make the team because their parents aren’t BFF’s with the coach
For the blisters that fill up their strong and hurting hands
This is for mathematicians and scientist, who get tired of everyone stealing their ideas
For those teenagers who act dumb because being smart isn’t “cool”
Hold those heads up
For all the kids whose mom’s or dad’s abandoned them for their “other family”
For all those girls who loves someone, but can’t tell her parents because he doesn’t look like them
For all the kids with parents that are even more judgmental than high school students
For the daddy’s “little” girls and mamma’s boys who just want their parents to stop seeing them as kids
This is for all the kids who are struggling with a million problems on the inside, but scared to tell anyone
For all the parents who are struggling to provide because they were left alone with one hundred kids
For stepparents who love their problem-causing step kids enough to try to make them better people
Hold those heads up
