Stop Leaving Me
I let myself trust you.
I let myself need you.
I let my walls down for you, because you let your walls down for me.
You come to me when things are hard; I comfort you.
I run to you when things are hard; do you comfort me?
You run away when things are hard and leave me hanging.
You choose when you speak to me and around who.
I let myself trust you.
I let myself need you.
I don’t do well with being broken, but I opened up to you.
I don’t know when or if you’ll be there, because I don’t know when you’ll snap.
I don’t know when or if you’re mad at me, so I don’t know how to approach you.
This is your fault, but this is also mine.
I let myself trust you.
I let myself need you.
I let myself break around you.
But I don’t know if you’ll be around to put the pieces together.
I’m not as strong as I seem, but I refuse to let myself be dependent on you.
We promised each other last night that we would get through whatever might come our way together.
This morning you’re refusing to talk to me, because you’re mad at someone else.
If you’re really my best friend, then you’ll talk to me. Yell at me.
Not ignore me.
Or you’ll tell me you need space, and I’ll give it to you.
I let myself trust you.
I let myself need you.
No matter what happens, I will always care about you.
You’re my best friend; my sister.
We’re in this together.
And so I let myself trust you.
I let myself need you…
Stop leaving me.
