Feign
I don’t want to sleep
I don’t want to eat
I can’t even breathe
Fearing you are near,
I don’t make a sound
Whisper softly that you’ll never let me go
I’ll know it’s a lie
But it’s the best lie I've ever been told
And I like pretending
I like thinking what I want you to think of me
Although it keeps me up at night,
It doesn't bother me
Still, I don’t make a sound
I know it’s a fake love
But it’s all I've ever had
And I can tell myself it’s real
I can make myself believe
Maybe you’d want that, at least
That’s what I like to think
Deep down, we’ll know the truth
But won’t really care
We go on faking our way through,
You were always the best at pretending
That you were really there
