A Tidal Wave
Ripping through homes and hearts,
tearing lives and worlds to parts.
Crashing down and bringing gloom,
hides a town in darkened doom.
If there’s a survivor, only one,
it brings great joy when thought we none.
A tiny girl, orphaned, alone,
has father found and now a home.
This one hope inspires the nation,
we pull together and work in celebration.
With this one surviving man,
comes to thought of more at hand.
When down comes dreams and fears,
a nation stands on brink of tears.
When we feel we cannot cope,
all we need is a little hope.
