Judgement Day
Here in the dark
There is nothing
But our souls.
We stand
Hundreds
Upon thousands
Upon millions
At the ultimate
Judgment
Day.
We never expected
that a day like this
Would come
From anyone
Other
Than god.
But here we stand,
Fingers intertwined
Waiting for the decision
That could decide our fates
For the next cycle of the earth.
Mountains will rise and fall
Lakes will drain and dry
The earth will become cracked and parched
And then flourish in the holy precipitation
And still this decision will hold.
So here we stand.
A voice,
The glare is blinding,
Blue and brilliant speckled with white hot lightning.
It is forbidding
It is stern
It is more powerful than the axis powers
Than the allies
Than George Washington
Than the master pulling at his dogs leash.
It is certainly dangerous…
But that doesn’t stop us from walking forward
Into the light.
