My Baby
Nine months is all it takes.
All it will ever take.
Then when the day comes,
You go through all the pain,
And discomfort.
You get to look at that angel,
And hold it in your arms.
To look in its eyes,
To feel a connection to it.
To know it’s going to grow up,
It’s going to love,
And it will get hurt.
It will make mistakes,
And it will learn from them.
But it will always be my little boy,
Even when it grows up.
Even when he is a daddy of his own.
