Loveless
her tears turned to gold as they fell from her eyes
her sadness turned to silver as it hung in the air
she had all this, and everything in the world she could want
except for the thing she needed.
the ocean would stop it's waves if she wanted
the sun would stop shining if she asked
the stars would fall one by one from the sky if she only willed it,
but the thing that she wanted something from, would do nothing.
it haunted her and toyed
it mocked her and laughed
but still, she wanted, needed it
though she could not have it
she watched as others shared it's precious gift
as they enjoyed the present with such delight
and she hated them
she wanted desperately to have what they did
but she could not
she could not die, and leave her prison
nor could she truly live without it
she just simply existed, watching them everyday with anger
and they shared the gift of love
