Trapped in their façade of
“good deeds” and heroism.

You pin me for the antagonist
But if only you knew
If only you could see that
I am the do-good. The real hero.
These cold-hearted beings, killing villains
In order to “protect the ones they love”
Fake.
They’re all fake.
Fake and convincing.
You all come after me
And those alike my own
Seeking to destroy.
To make extinct.
How naïve of you to pin such negative
Labels to my name
To my character
To my kind.
You watch as I kill heroes
Time after time again.
You make it your mission to hunt me
To murder me.
But you’re all wrong.
I kill those that do wrong in this world.
I kill the liars.
I kill the thieves.
I kill the fakes.

You all watch as they take down
My friends and family
Cheering and praising and gawking over
Such impurity.
Vile beings, those heroes are…
Killing the only individuals that deserve to live forever.
