&quot;A woman is like a tea bag- you never know how strong she is until she gets in hot water.&quot;<br /> -Eleanor Roosevelt

Frivolous dreams beckon.
Innocence is unaccounted for.
Permanence inked
from temporary lust.

Puckered eyes joust
singeing jabs.
Brine flushes and stings.
Ivory weeps
melted contemplation.

Ecstasy deflates,
selfdom decays to mute remorse.
The tallest silhouettes
now layered in rue.
Torpidity finally damned.

Lifetimes have hushed
ephemeral yearnings.
Yellowed ideas exposed without guise.
Taciturn humans forever speaking.

The author's comments:
I was thinking about tattoos, not necessarily for me, but just in general. There are so many interesting things that one could have inked on them, but in 30-40 years how will they feel about that tattoo? Personally I am too afraid of regretting my desision and would never get inked for that reason. This poem follows the progression of inked ideas and the remorse that follows with it.
