Cinderella
Remember how it was before she came?
She scrubs, sweeps, builds, even sings
The one who cleans her way to maid fame,
Comes a running every time that bell rings.
Her step-mom bosses her ‘round and ‘round
Like a horse on chains plowing a field.
Running away, going insane, straight up a mound
Of hurt, within her strength began to build.
I came to save her with magical feels,
With a bop of my wand and a little speech,
She was in a white gown and even glass heels.
Off to the Ball she goes, with a happy screech,
Where she’ll meet her prince, a dream man so real,
And realize happiness isn’t out of reach. .
