We are legends
We're legends now
innocent souls
traded life and dignity
for a grasp at love
We're specks in history
every laugh, past
and historic relapse
White snow falls
my heart is too cold to bare
hearts don't break even
and fate doesn't fall fair
Drowned my hopes in nights of tears
but you take your pain to bars
let go of my dreams,
watch them float up to join the stars
those shining longings
guitar strings won't move
angelic notes held down by a heavy heart
I thought I had something to prove
Just one more memory I try to lose
There is nothing left
but to move on
that's how history goes
nothing lasts forever
and neither will my woes
Lost hearts can be found
Homes can be rebuilt
You can get up off the ground
You're stronger than gravity and pain
This won't be the last time
History, memories, and patterns lace through our lives
and crying and being honest isn't a crime
But it's looking beyond the history
that makes us strong
don't be restrained by memories of weakness
be defined by the legend of your strength
