Everything happens for a reason.

Pile on the teenage boy’s burden,
Standards always being set,
Displayed upon abrecrombie’s wall,
Standards I have not yet met.
You need muscle on muscle,
To gain girls attention.
Soccer and Football are ways to turn heads,
But I will never be the right dimension.

Pile on the teenage boy’s burden,
Father and mother do not understand,
Getting straight A’s can get out of hand.
Late night studying,
Falling asleep in class the next day,
I’ll just keep pretending I’m doing okay.

Pile on the teenage boy’s burden,
The truth comes out,
She was with my best friend.
I feel like the world is about to end.
It clearly ended bad,
It’s hard being a “man” and sad.
It’s not cool to cry,
You might as well just die.

Pile on the teenage boy’s burden,
Drink until you’re drunk,
Smoke until you’re high.
Do it and you’ll be a hunk,
And a loser if you don’t comply.

Pile on the teenage boy’s burden,
If only you could wake from this dream,
But instead you sink and sink to low esteem.
Pressure is everywhere you turn.
Eyes brimming with judgement leave a wound.
Those looks, they burn.
When will they ever learn?
That the teenager is doomed.
