A Night Out
I think bar stools are uncomfortable for a reason.
You sit and have a few drinks,
maybe strike up a conversation,
but it does not encourage
an extended stay.
At the end of the night
you walk back home,
and wake up with a stiff back
and chapped lips,
and you have no interest in going back
for at least a week or two.
But for some people
those stools become form fitted
to the contours of their bodies,
and every night they come back
like a wounded lover
trying to reclaim the object of their affection.
I guess you’re just one of those people,
and I will always be the latter.
