Where To Look (I Am poem)
The world is my domain
Aimlessly flowing through the open air
I flourish in the warm spring sun
I am from the gods
A gift,
A curse,
And a gifted curse
I am from the single mother,
Supporting three kids on food stamps
I’m from the empty shell of the widowed man
Alone and broken in this cold world
I am from the pitiful homeless man,
Grieving over the death of his dog
Yet I am from the giddy boy,
From his eager and bubbly soul
I am from the shattered past
Of abandoned memories once cherished
I’m from the ever-bright future
With expectations drawn from hopeful dreams
I’m from the minds of the youth
I’m from the hearts of the old
I’m from the depths of every man, woman, and child
With desire to grow and spread
I am from the boundless sky
Residing in all of mankind
I am from the luminous moon,
Which reaches down and gently kisses the earth
I am from the luscious rose
Whose soothing fragrance tickles the nose
I am from the golden bands wrapped around lucky fingers,
Pledged with commitment and loyalty
I am love
I AM here
The world is my domain
