The Ocean
Take me to the ocean
And drop me in the water
Tie weights around my ankles
And watch me drown; your only daughter
My honesty is timid
My resilience has a limit
Your words hurt and wound me
And in spite of them, I'm a ruined me
If you think the salt will heal my wounds
You're more wrong than ever
The water's dirty, It's destroying me!
I only wish that you will soon see
It's covering my eyes
Yer i can see more clearly at the bottom
It's drawing the color from my hair
It's bleached my skin against autumn
The water is filling my lungs
And my ears are surrounded
The pressure to swim above
Has forced me deeper down
Down, Down, Dead
Yesterday I knew I loved you
Yesterday I knew the real you
But yesterday I thought you would change
Because I wanted our love to be true
I keep running away
I'm just not not fast enough
It consumes me like darkness
I'm always consumed with the darkness
The ocean is cold now
And the ocean is dark
The water's calm this far down
But the silence creates insanity within
When will you love me again?
When will you pull me from the ocean?
When will I see the light?
Please, just tell me when.
I still love you
But my wounds aren't yet healed
If i ever learn to swim
They'll go away for good
Please don't put me back in
If you're not satisfied
My soul is parched
And my heart is dry
