Found Poem
Every father knows a man’s heart works
He gives his son fifteen ecus, his horse, and advice
You will be struck by beauty, one that is dangerously foreign
You will find her angelic, and lovely
And something will happen that you will not understand
A flower of love will begin to blossom in your heart
She is like a queen, sacred, and should have only good things said about her
You will try to protect her, and keep her safe
Then you will be trapped, like in a cave
And jealousy will gnaw at your heart as mercilessly as if you were already her lover
Be warned, you listen closely now
Women must be quickly taught to behave as you want them to
Not every dream is a good one
The most beautiful girl in the world can give only what she has
She will murmur, satisfied “I’m still beautiful”
Then take what she can and give nothing back
You will drink in every word, all her movement and flirt
She’ll put cracks in your armor
Until you realize what she’s done and take a step back
Then she’ll utter a savage cry of rage and slither to another
