the chase
The feathers of my dream catcher dangle in my face.
Promising the end of a never ending nightmare;
a continuous thought of you.
But as i lie awake in the presence of the stars that lit up the sky, i become as lite as a bird traveling among the wind.
I shed more of myself as my mind empties itself out.
Because this chase is growing old;
i know this race by heart,
yet i find myself looking for a finish line that was never there.
Because you were so heavy on my mind that my wings allowed me to soar when the thought of you was left behind.
