Battlefield
Our love was like a battle field, you shot me down
I tried to stand back up, but you shoved me to the ground
You’ve shattered and crushed my aching heart
You’ve make my life fall apart
I trusted you, and that’s where I went wrong
I’ve endured this pain far too long
I’m through with this sadness, grief, and pain
Darkening my day like down pouring rain
I used to smile when I saw your face
But now I just hide and feel out of place
I used to think about your for every hour of the day
I used to believe in things that you would say
But now things have changed, and will never be the same
Because you think love is just one big game
I want someone who cares for me, like I cared for you
I want someone who loves me for the things I do
So now I’m erasing all the memories,
The times of pain and the times of fear
Trying to forget last month, trying to forget last year
Trying to forget the first time I stared in your eyes
And the time we said our last goodbyes
Trying to forget the empty hole that just won’t ever be filled
Trying to mend the broken heart. . .
That never will be healed
