you are a mermaid
you are a mermaid,
a seagreen seamstress
stringing petals on
fishing lines and
utilizing paper
chromotography
to separate viscera
from gills –
you knock me over,
i am a pathetic
flounder on my side
i plead, ma’am
please and
please ma’am,
spare these fisheyes,
my wood-planked tail,
your sorcery may
wallow into a
boathook if
you guzzle much
more saline –
i would hate to
lose your tongue:
slithering, aerobic
source of desires,
it is your instrument.
