Sweet Dreamer MAG
on her forearm, she
sketches a treble clef
with a raindrop-blue ballpoint;
her motions are draping and
delicate,
like
the music she vies to play.
her knees and elbows
are well-acquainted with
the unreconciled concrete, but
she'll still lift her Converse heels
and practice being a balloon.
someday, she'll pick up
her cell phone, and it will be serendipity
placing a call in her open palms,
and with her face against the handset,
she'll glance down at
the memories
in her silver locket
and smile.
